Asian college of Journalism has announced ACJ Entrance Test  and Interview for admission into its Post Graduate Journalism programmes for the academic year 2017-18. IIMC offers Post Graduate Journalism Diploma courses in Print, New Media, Television and Radio.

Important Dates

  • Last date for receiving applications is April 17, 2017.
  • Date of entrance exam is May 14, 2017.
  • Interview will be conducted for selected candidates between June 1 and 5, 2017.
  • Admission results will be announced on June 7, 2017.


  • A Bachelor’s Degree is mandatory. Graduates in any discipline and students awaiting their degree examination results are eligible to apply for admission to the ACJ. 
  • Enrolled students should provide their degree certificate to the Registrar within the first week of commencement of classes. 
  • Students awaiting their examination results should provide their degree certificate latest by the end of February 2018.

How to Apply

  • The application form may either be submitted ONLINE or DOWNLOADED and completed and posted.
  • In either case, please make sure you send the application fee of Rs 1500/- as an online transfer
  • (OR) Demand Draft in favour of "Media Development Foundation", payable at Chennai with your full name and address written on the back of the DD.
  • Please send 2 Passport sized photos to the address given below:

  • Candidates are required to indicate, in their completed application, the media stream they wish to specialise in, i.e Print, New Media, Television and Radio.Application 
  • Form will be processed only if it is complete in all respects and on receipt of the application fee and photos.

Entrance Exam

After a careful assessment of applications, short-listed candidates will be required to take an entrance examination on Sunday, May 14, 2017.

The examination will be offered in Thiruvananthapuram, Cochin, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Patna, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bhopal, Lucknow, Ranchi, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Pune, Ahmedabad, and possibly other cities, depending on the number of applications received from a particular region.

The examination will be delivered online in real time and will be in two parts: (a) to test the applicant’s English language skills and facility and (b) the awareness of current affairs and general knowledge. It will also test the candidates’ writing ability and assess their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Other procedures may be prescribed for candidates from abroad.


Applicants who have done well in the entrance examination will be invited to an interview at the college between June 1 and 5, 2017.
