National Institute of Technology, Surathkal invites applications for admission into its MBA Programme for the academic year 2016-17. Admissions to MBA programme of National Institute of Technology Surathkal for 2016-17 will be made on the basis of CAT 2015 or GMAT scores together with Group discussion (GD) and Personal interview(s) of candidates.

Important dates

  • Availability of Application form on website 5th January 2016 
  • Last Date for receiving completed applications: 01st March 2016 
  • Dates for selection process: 26th March 2016(NITK Campus) and 09th April 2016(New Delhi)


  1. Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a Recognized University with not less than 50% marks (or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 5.5 in the 0-10 scale grading system) in the aggregate taking into account the marks scored in all subjects of all the University examination conducted during the entire prescribed period of the degree programme. However, this prescribed minimum marks shall be 45% (CGPA of at least 5.0 in the 0-10 scale grading system) in the case of SC/ST.
  2. Candidate must have appeared in CAT 2015/GMAT (GMAT scores obtained in the 24 months prior to last date of application will be considered)

How to Apply

  • The prescribed application form for MBA Programme can be downloaded from the Institute website 
  • The application form can be duly filled and sent to the Asst. Registrar (Academic), National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, Srinivasnagar, Mangalore -575 025, Karnataka State on or before the last date prescribed 01.03.2016 along with a D.D. for Rs.600/- (in case of SC/ST, Rs.150/-) drawn in favour of the Director, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, Srinivasnagar, payable at State Bank of India, Surathkal /Canara Bank, NITK Campus (Canara Bank – DP Code 8517). 
  • Application without the D.D for the required amount will not be considered. 
  • Applications which are incomplete/defective/received late are liable to be rejected summarily and no correspondence will be entertained on such applications.

1. CAT Score/GMAT Score 70%
2. Group discussion 10%
3. Personal Interview 10%
4. Work Experience 10%
