Christ University, Bangalore invites applications from eligible candidates for admission into its MASTER OF ARTS (MA) IN MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION STUDIES course for the academic year 2017-2018. Admissions are based on merit of candidates determined by the performance of applicant in Group Discussion, Skill Assessment Test and Personal Interview.

Important Dates

  • Application Forms will be available from: 8th December 2016
  • Date of GD/Entrance Test/Personal Interview: Applicant can select a date from multiple options given in the 4th step of Application process.


  • A candidate who has passed any Undergraduate degree examination with 50 % aggregate marks from any recognised University in India or abroad recognised by UGC / AIU are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants who are in the final year of their studies should have secured 50% or above aggregate in all the Semesters / Years of Undergraduate Examinations conducted so far and writing their final degree examinations in March-May 2017 are also eligible to apply.

How to Apply

Direct Mode: Applicants can obtain the application forms after remitting the prescribed application processing fee at Counter No.7, Office of Admissions, Ground Floor, Central Block, Christ University Main Campus, Bangalore.

Online Mode: Candidates applying through online mode must log on to to fill in the online application form.

Candidates applying through direct mode (application bought at the office) should also fill the application through online at
a) Create a 16 digit unique login ID by entering email address, mobile number and date of birth.
b) Follow the instructions on the page under ‘Apply courses’.
c) Application registration fee may be paid through Credit / Debit Card / Net banking facility.
d) Candidates must have a valid email ID and mobile number for further communication (A System generated SMS and e-mail confirmation with the application number and date of birth entered into the Online Application will be sent to the provided e-mail ID and Mobile No.).
e) Candidates must have copies of statement of marks of Class 10 & 12, Undergraduate programme (Mandatory). Students in their final year/semester must submit marks card copies up to the previous year/semester.
f) Copy of Transfer Certificate from last qualified Institution, and Migration Certificate from last qualified Institution for candidates from outside of Karnataka (If available while applying).
g) Fill-in all the details in the “detailed application” page and click “Submit”. On clicking Submit, a viewable and editable page will appear on screen. In case you need to make any corrections; you may edit the data/details and then click “Confirm Submission”.
h) Choose the payment option and fill-in the required details to process the “Application processing fee”. The application will be submitted online after payment of application processing fee.
i) You will receive the application number with the option to print your application form.
j) Print and sign the application form. Keep a copy of the application form for further reference and to produce at the time of selection process.

Candidates need to send the following documents in an A4 size Envelope:
1. One copy of the application processing fee online payment acknowledgment slip (Mandatory).
2. Two recent passport size (photo size of 35mm x 45 mm) and 2 stamp size photographs wearing formal dress with white background - Standard Indian Passport Format (Mandatory). Write your name and application number behind the photographs.
3. One copy of the original filled-in printed application form duly signed by the parent / guardian and the candidate (Mandatory).
4. Copy of Statement of marks of Class 10, Class 12, Undergraduate (Mandatory) and a copy of Provisional Degree Certificate / Degree Certificate (Convocation Certificate), if candidate has graduated on or before June 2016 (Mandatory).
5. Copy of Transfer Certificate from last qualified Institution (If Available).
6. Copy of Migration Certificate for candidates from outside of Karnataka (If available).
7. Copy of Passport and Visa Page if the candidate is from Outside India (Mandatory).

Selection Process

  1. Group Discussion
  2. Skill Assessment: The skill assessment will consist of a test on written skills, communication skills and logical reasoning.
  3. Personal interview
  4. Academic Performance Assessment of past performance in X, XII and Degree ( if result awaited, marks available currently) during the Personal Interview
