IIT Bombay Master of Management Programme Admissions 2016 - Application Form, Admission Criteria, Eligibility

Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology IIT, Bombay invites applications for admission into its Master of Management Programme for the academic year 2016-17. Admissions to Master of Management Programme of SJMSOM, for the I Semester 2016-17 will be made on the basis of CAT 2015 scores together with group discussion (GD), Written test(WAT), interview(s) and Profile of candidates.

Important Dates

  • CAT results declaration: 2nd week of January
  • Online application starts: 11th January 2016
  • Last date for applying online (Domestic): 30th January, 2016
  • Last date for receipt of Demand draft ((if not paid online) at IIT Bombay (Domestic): 31st January, 2016
  • Shortlist of candidates selected for  WAT/PI: 5th February, 2016
  • Online selection of slots for  WAT/PI starts: 5th February, 2016 (Tentative)
  • Online selection of slots for WAT/PI ends: 10th February, 2016 (Tentative)
  • Written Ability Test(WAT) and Personal interviews: 4th - 7th March 2016
  • Final list of selected candidates: 10th May, 2016 (Tentative)


  1. A four year Bachelor Degree or a Masters Degree in any discipline with first class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate (including all years/semesters) or minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 for SC/ST) out of 10
  2. CA/ICWA, with a first class Bachelors Degree in any discipline (60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in aggregate (including all years/semesters) or minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 for SC/ST) out of 10)
  3. Those appearing for the final degree examination can also apply. The admission in such cases will be subject to their fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria as stated in (1) or (2) at the time of joining the course.

Application Procedure

  • The candidates are required to appear for online CAT 2015.
  • After the CAT 2015 results are declared, the applicants are required to complete the online application form available from 11th January, 2016. 
  • The last date for receiving the demand draft (if payment is not done online) is 31st January, 2016. 
  • Candidate will have to scan and upload the following documents along with the application form:
    1. Passport size photograph
    2. Signature
    3. Graduation Certificate / Copy of latest semester mark sheet (for students still appearing for the final semester or yet to receive Graduation Certificate)
    4. CASTE certificate
    5. CAT scorecard 
  • The candidates who have paid the form fees online do not require to send any document to the institute. The documents will be  asked from the candidates as and when required. 
  • The short-listed candidates will be invited to appear for Written Ability Test(WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) on the dates given above. Shortlisted candidates are required to book the slots for  WAT and PI as soon as the shortlist is released. The slot booking dates are mentioned above.
