Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences MGIMS, Wardha invites applications from eligible candidates for admission into its Post Graduate Degree and Diploma courses for the academic year 2016-2017. Admissions are based on merit of candidates determined by the performance of applicant along with the actual marks obtained int the subject applied in.

  1. A Candidate must be an Indian National.
  2. First preference will be given to a candidate who possesses MBBS degree from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and has completed one year compulsory rotatory internship. In exceptional cases students from other universities will be considered, subject to MCI rule in case PG seats remain vacant at the end of normal selection cycle.
  3. Must have permanent registration with the State Medical Council / MCI.
  4. Must have done two years of rural service on or before 31st December 2015. However, those who have done minimum of one year rural service on or before 31st December, 2015 are also eligible to apply for 2016 PG Courses but they must do the remaining period of rural service after completing the P.G. Course to make the total rural service of two years 

Application Procedure

  • Applications for admission to the course are required to be filled by down loading application form from the website and the hard copy/printout of the filled application form should be submitted to the Dean’s office along with Rs. 2000/- in cash or a demand draft of Rs. 2000/- drawn in favour of ‘Dean, MGIMS, Sevagram’.
  • The print out/hard copy of the filled in application, complete in all respects, accompanied with all the relevant documents and Fee of Rs.2000/- should reach the Office of Dean, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram-442102, Wardha (Dist), Maharashtra on or before 28/12/2015.

Determination of Merit

  • The Merit will be determined by adding up the marks obtained at First Professional, Second Professional and Final Professional (Part I & Part II) MBBS examination along with the actual marks obtained in the subject in which the candidate has applied. 
  • For candidates coming from any University other than Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nasik (MUHS), the marks obtained will be compiled after conversion to the subject wise pattern of the marks of MUHS, Nasik. 
  • For the purpose of calculation in the subjects which are not separate at the M.B.B.S. level, the marks of the main subject under which the allied subject have been included as per Medical Council of India will be taken. For example marks obtained in Surgery for allied subjects, like Radiology, Anesthesiology & Orthopedics and marks obtained in Medicine for allied subjects like Psychiatry & Skin & VD.
  • 10 Additional marks will be awarded to each candidate who has completed rural service for 24 months or more by 31st December, 2015
  • 7 Additional marks will be awarded to each candidate who has completed 18 months of rural service but less than 24 months by 31st December, 2015. For each extra attempt, a deduction of 5% of the maximum marks of the subject in which candidate has failed will be made from the above aggregate. 
  • 10 additional marks will be added in the total marks of each candidate who has completed one year compulsory rotatory internship from Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sevagram.
