MH PGM PGD CET 2016, Application Form, Exam Dates, Eligibility, Pattern

Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Maharashtra has announced the Post Graduate Medical Common Entrance Test, PGM CET 2016 for admission to Post Graduate Medical courses (MD/MS/PG Diploma) and Post Graduate Dental Common Entrance Test, PGD CET 2016 for admission to Post Graduate Dental courses (MDS).

This state level examination is conducted once in a year to offer admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma/MDS courses in medical and dental colleges located in Maharastra. Aspirants will be selected for the 50% MD/MS/ PG Diploma/MDS seats in state medical or dental colleges of Maharastra on the basis of their rank in the merit list. The remaining 50% seats will be filled through national level All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) and AIPGDEE score.

The seats available for admission to medical postgraduate courses will be distributed as 50% to all India Quota & remaining 50 % to the State Quota. From the State quota 25% PG Degree & 25% Diploma Seats from Government Medical Colleges will be distributed to the In-Service Candidates of Public Health Department and ESIS Department.

The Seat available for admission to Dental Postgraduate Courses will be distribute as 50% to all India Quota and remaining 50% the State Quota. From the State Quota 15% Seats from Government Dental Colleges will be distributed to the dental In-Service Candidates of Government Dental College & Hospital.

  • Issue of Admit Cards (Online): 18th January to 23rd January 2015
  • Date of Examination: 24th January 2016, (Sunday, 10.00 am to 01.30 pm)
  • Online Display of Question Paper Booklets on Website: 27th January 2016
  • OMR Answer sheets Available on DMER Website: 29th January 2016
  • Online Submission of Objections on Questions Paper/Answer Key: 27th January to 02nd February 2016
  • Declaration of Provisional Result/Marks: 22nd February 2016

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidate must be an Indian National.
  2. All candidates, who have passed final M.B.B.S./B.D.S. examination and completed/completing one year internship training by 31st March, 2016 from a recognized Medical/ Dental college included in the Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956/ scheduled of Dental Council of India and situated in Maharashtra are eligible.
  3. Candidates who have passed MBBS/ BDS examination from foreign University are not eligible for PGM/ PGD-CET 2016.
  4. The MCI/MMC and DCI/MSDC registration is mandatory for appearing at PGM/PGD-CET.
  5. The candidates who are domiciled in Maharashtra and who have obtained admission under 15% quota for All India Pre Medical/ Dental Test Entrance Examination (AIPMT) for MBBS/BDS course in the Medical/ Dental college/institution situated outside Maharashtra State and who have obtained the degree from a University situated outside the State of Maharashtra will also be eligible for PGM/PGD-CET 2016.
  6. Candidates who have passed postgraduate diploma course will be eligible for PGM/PGD-CET for admission to postgraduate degree registration in the same subject only. 

Eligibility Criteria for in-Service Candidates

  1. In-Service Candidates Eligibility for In-service candidates will be as per criteria laid down by the Public Health Dept for M.M. & H.S. Medical Officer candidates and by commissioner of E.S.I.S. for E.S.I.S in-service candidates.
  2. For BMC In-Service Candidate eligibility criteria will be as per criteria let down by Municipal Commissioner/Director of Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation.

Application Procedure

  2. Cost of online application form of PGM/PGD-CET 2016 & examination fee is Rs. 3000/-. This amount is not refundable.
  3. Candidate should fill all the entries in application form and upload his/ her Scanned photograph and signature
  4. System will validate required fields before allowing him / her to submission.Eligible Candidate will be able to submit the form.
  5. After submission of form Bank Challan will be displayed in two parts. 
  6. Unique Application No. (Username) along with details of nonrefundable required fee Rs. 3,000/- will be available on challan and same details will be mailed to the Candidate on his given E-mail ID. 
  7. Candidate should take printout of Bank Challan. With this Challan pay the required fee in any Branch of Bank, on Second Working Day onwards, from the day of Printing Challan and obtain your copy of Challan indicating Journal ID/Transation ID.
  8. ‘Log In’ Link will be available on DMER website www.dmer.org to verify the Application Form. 
  9. Candidate should login with Application No. (User Name) and his/her unique Password to download the printout of Application Form. Candidate has to preserve the downloaded printout of Application Form for subsequent use. 
  10. Applicants need not send copy of Application Form or any Document to this office.

The Admit Cards will be downloaded from here after login during 18/01/2016 to 23/01/2016.

Test Pattern

  • The examination will be conducted in English Medium. 
  • PGM-CET paper will be of Three and half  hours (210 minutes) duration containing 300 multiple choice questions (MCQs) and PGD-CET Paper will be of  90 minutes duration containing 100 multiple choice question (MCQs). 
  • Each question will be of single best response objective type with four answer options. 
  • Each correct response shall be awarded one mark. There shall be NO NEGATIVE MARKING for wrong answers.
