Indian Institute of Management Lucknow has released admission criteria for its Post Graduation Program in Management for 2016-2018 batch. Get all the details of admission criteria here.

Admission Process:

The admission process for the PGP program comprises two stages.

1.    Shortlisting candidates for WAT/PI round.
2.    Final Selection of candidates post WAT/PI round

During the first stage, initially a pool of candidates who satisfy the following minimum CAT 2015 percentiles are considered.

Among the pool of candidates who meet the above mentioned percentiles, a list of candidates who would be called for attending Written ability test (WAT) and Personal Interview rounds is generated using the following parameters.

Components
CAT score (CS)
Class - XII marks(12M)
Graduation marks(GM)
Work Experience( WE)
Diversity Factor : Academic Discipline(D Fa)
Diversity Factor: Gender (DFb)
Total ( A )
Weights (PGP)

One point to be noted here is that IIM Lucknow has given 38 marks out of 50 marks to CAT performance of a candidate. While only 12 marks are assigned to the other parameters. This goes on to show that performing well in CAT 2015 would go a long way in securing a WAT/PI call from this premier B-school.

Stage 2 - Final selection of candidates

The following are the parameters and their weightages during the WAT/PI stage ( same for all three programs )

Components
Weights (PGP)
Written Ability Test (WAT)
10
Personal Interview (PI)
40
Total (B)
50

Unlike last year when IIM Lucknow conducted both GD and WAT, this year they will not be conducting the group discussion. It was apparently done to ensure that the faculty members get more time to Interview the shortlisted candidates. In light of this, the weightage for the PI has been increased from 30 to 40 marks.

Generation of list of selected candidates:

While generating the final list of selected candidates, the cumulative performance of candidates in both the stages ( out of 100 marks ) will be considered.

Grand Total (C) = Shortlist Total (A) + WAT-PI Total (B). The Grand Total (C) will be used to rank the candidates according to their merit.

To conclude, one important observation about this year's selection process is that the total weightage for parameters which are controllable ( CAT,WAT and PI ) in the final selection stage has been kept at a whopping 88%. This ensures that the applicants, who do not have a good academic profile or work experience can still aspire to join IIM Lucknow by preparing well for CAT 2015, WAT and PI rounds.
