Indian Institutes of Technology, Madras, has announced Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) 2016 which will be held on February 07, 2016 (Sunday) for admission to Integrated Ph.D. degree programmes at IISc Bangalore (IISc) and M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual degree, M.Sc.-M.Tech., M.Sc.- M.S.(Research)/Ph.D. dual degree and other post-Bachelor degree programmes at IITs for the academic session 2016-17.Get all details of JAM 2016 here.

Following IITs are accepting JAM 2016 scores for Admissions: (Bhubaneswar (IITBBS), Bombay (IITB), Delhi (IITD), Gandhinagar (IITGN), Guwahati (IITG), Hyderabad (IITH), Indore (IITI), Jodhpur (IITJ), Kanpur (IITK), Kharagpur (IITKgp), Madras (IITM),Patna (IITP),Roorkee (IITR) and Ropar (IITRPR).

Application Procedure :

  1. A candidate can register and apply ONLINE only for JAM 2016 from September 02, 2015 to October 14, 2015. 
  2. The application fee can be paid either online or through e-challan (additional transaction charges may apply). 
  3. In case, a candidate chooses to pay through e-challan, then the payment should be made in cash at any branch of the bank mentioned in the e-challan latest by October 10, 2015 (Saturday). 
  4. The application fee is non refundable.

Eligibility :

  1. At least 55% aggregate marks without rounding off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for General/ OBC (NCL) Category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks without rounding off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC/ ST and PwD Category candidates in the qualifying degree. 
  2. For candidates with grades in letter/ CGPA (instead of percentage of marks) the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the admitting institute(s). 
  3. Note: Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with required eligibility, as specified by the admitting institute, should be submitted by September 30, 2016. Reservation policy is as per Government of India norms.

JAM Admission Procedure :

  1. Admission to the above mentioned academic programmes in IISc Bangalore and IITs for the academic session 2016-17 will be made on the basis of all India merit list of JAM 2016. 
  2. Candidates who qualify in any test paper of JAM 2016 shall be eligible to apply for admission to all the academic programmes corresponding to that test paper, provided they also satisfy the minimum educational qualifications and the eligibility requirements, as specified by the Institute(s) in which the admission is sought. 
  3. After the declaration of JAM 2016 results, qualified candidates shall be required to apply to the Organizing Institute (IIT Madras) specifying their preferences for the programmes for which the admission is sought. 
  4. Candidates should note that being in the merit list of any test paper neither guarantees nor provides any automatic entitlement for admission.
